WordPress without the guesswork.
Keep publishing simple while making the application behind it understandable. Treat content, extensions, user accounts, files, and the database as related parts of one maintainable service.
Give every extension a reason to exist
Maintain an inventory of themes, plugins, custom code, and external services. Record the purpose and owner of each important component. Review unused components rather than allowing an old experiment to become an unexplained permanent dependency.
Rehearse important updates
Test representative changes in staging with a clear acceptance checklist. Check ordinary publishing, media, and the functions your site actually depends on. Record staging differences so a successful test is not assumed to establish behavior it did not exercise.
Recover compatible state
Prepare a recovery plan that covers relevant files and database content together. Include external storage or services explicitly. Restore a representative copy in a separate environment and verify it before treating the backup routine as proven.
